Get the latest version automatically or handle updates manually!
As the general rule; ALL devices, servers, software; everything should be updated. ProVide allows the software to be updated automatically or manually. Please note that running an update does not necessarily mean that ProVide will update instantly. Updates are deferred until there are no active connections.
We strongly advise to use the automatic update feature. ProVide is a fire-and-forget kind of software, designed to just work; and keep working. New features, added ciphers, new standards, security protocols and optimizations are added regularly.
We take security and privacy very seriously and this affects both our security by design approach and the fact that we respect that software should not make external connections unless specifically allowed. Thus; if you do not turn on automatic updates, the software will under no circumstances phone home. As such the software runs completely under your control, and it is up to you to keep it updated.

Should you be behind multiple firewalls in a closed subnet, with extreme security constraints, it is possible to get specific encrypted update links directly from the developer team. Requests for code reviews or code inspection can be met at the customers expense. Such requests will be managed on site, in a separate test environment on our systems in Skövde, Sweden; carefully monitored by our developer team. We can of course arrange accomodation, locales and a tour of Skövde and its surroundings for any such review teams.
